Quick tips is a series of mom-tested insights on topics like mothering, home managing, kid wrangling, and ball juggling designed to help you do your job better.
Something to consider next time you're at the grocery store: the squash factor. What will this food look like after it's been spilled on the floor and then stepped on? Cheerios, as you may know, will retain their basic O shape even when squashed flat. Kix, on the other hand, squashes into a million crumby pieces, which then find their way into every nook and cranny of the pantry.

Five Minute Hummus
Denise's oh-so-easy hummus was a big hit at our last gathering, and she's sharing her recipe with us all! Thanks, Denise.
1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
juice of one lemon
1/4 cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, pressed or minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
water
Blend all ingredients together. Add water to desired consistency. Enjoy!
